Milan’s fashion week hasn’t ended yet, but it’s already safe to determine that there’s something different around the Italian capital of style this time around. While some fashion houses struggled to step out of their comfort zone (hey there Moschino and Gucci), others managed to display some freshness, originality, and inspiration (thank you Prada and Armani). Besides that, there’s were some moving moments such as Donatella Versace’s powerful tribute to her late brother Gianni and Dolce & Gabbana’s queens of heart. Check all that happened this week in Italy.

Dolce & Gabbana
The Italian fashion house has turned into ‘House Of Cards’, revealing Spring/Summer 2018 collection and its main theme – the queen of hearts. Dresses, jumpsuits, jackets, skirts, leggings, sunglasses and bags were all covered with the motifs of hearts, cards and royalty. Now that looks like a fun kingdom.

Versace
It’s hard to think about a more moving tribute than the one by Donatella Versace to her late brother Gianni Versace. Donatella, which has inherited the fancy fashion house 20 years ago as a tragic result of her brother’s murder, recruited all of Gianni’s iconic muses from the ’90s. Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomie Campbell, Carla Bruni and Helena Christensen – all stepped onto the catwalk wearing golden gowns as a fierce gesture to the golden age days back then.

Moschino #1
And from one gesture to another with Jeremy Scott’s back on the horse, or should we say on the little pony. After conquering iconic cultural-symbols such as Mcdonalds, Barbie and the classic teddy-bear, Moschino’s creative designer has taken over the joyful ponies. Totally cheesy? Without a doubt. Would this collection turn to a major hit? Probably.

MOSCHINO! 💐

Moschino #2
Kaia Gerber’s was only introduced to the catwalk last week at London fashion week, but it seems that she hasn’t taken a break ever since. At Moschino’s runway show she truly flourished due to the chance to get wrapped like a human bouquet.  Looks comfy!

Fendi
The caesar of fashion, AKA Karl Lagerfeld, has thrown together what looks to be a tasty salad blended with different ingredients such as checkered patterns, diagonal stripes prints, tropical motifs and off the shoulder silhouettes. The outcome is as delicious, as this Insta-moment tells.

Gucci
Hipsta-ladies wearing ’70s layers and oversized glasses beside dudes in high-waisted pants and fanny packs. Yes, you guessed right. It’s the new Alessandro Michele’s collection!

Armani
Extremely-short bangs mixed with Mondrianish look-a-like statement earrings, semi-Cubist sparkly tops and shreds of Impressionism functioned as the extractions of Armani’s artistic runway show. In a way, it felt like there’s an inner battle between brightness and softness to darkness and roughness. “I respond to sadness with colors”, the media quoted Armani. Well, that’s a truly beautiful reaction.

Prada
It’s a plane… it’s a bird… it’s Prada’s Spring/Summer 2018 runway show! Surprisingly, the innovative yet classic fashion house has based its latest collection on the world of superheroes. At first glance, the comic book look-a-like artwork and the similar printed garments could accidentally be referred with Jeremy Scott and Moschino, but Prada’s not into cheezy stunts. So what’s the story? Well, folks, it’s all about women’s empowerment. Miuccia Prada has stated an ultra-feminist message, sewed within the newsprint punkish-leather jackets, the ’50s graphic kitten-heels and the retro bowling bags. The absolute opposite of the childish little ponies mentioned earlier.
