David Koma For Topshop Spring 2011 Collection

David Koma’s monochrome, futuristic and geometric collections he regularly shows at London Fashion Week are pop-star favorites. You’ve seen his looks on the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole. And now you’ll get the chance to own a David Koma as well, David Koma For Topshop that is.

The David Koma for Topshop capsule collection is comprised of five pieces. At the count of only thirty of each piece, this is probably one of the most limited-edition and expensive collections Topshop produced so far. As Koma’s designs are highly structural and involve metal piping details the pieces come at a high price. The cheapest David Koma For Topshop item you can get is the belt with metal-tubes detail priced at £100 ($160). The dresses are priced at the higher £350 ($560) mark.

Of the collaboration David Koma says, “Topshop signifies youth and modernity and its spirit evokes ‘cool London’. It was really exciting to work with the Topshop team as I felt they understood me as a designer and appreciated my need to make a high quality product without compromising the design aesthetic, quality of fabric or finishing. They helped make my vision a reality and I’m thrilled with the result.”

David Koma For Topshop collection will be available at the New York flagship store, Oxford Circus store in London and topshop.com. As to when, this is where opinions are split. Vogue UK reports February 18th as the launch date. Telegraph UK insists on February 16th and Susie Bubble of Style Bubble has the more optimistic February 10th in mind. Either way, I’d have my finger on the topshop.com bookmark already on the 10th.
