Cartoonish oversize buttons, belt buckles, lapels and graphics prints. Such is the world according to Miuccia Prada for Fall 2011. And a very drastic turn from Prada Fall 2010 as well. If this fall we enjoyed plunging necklines, bustiers and hourglass figures, next fall we’ll be reconnecting to the little girl in us, wearing drop waist over-the-knee dresses with oversize details mentioned above.
As far as outerwear goes, the coats were cut in the same silhouette as the dresses – made out of snake print leather or embellished with fur. For evening, Prada Fall 2011 played with big semi-lucid paillettes creating ethereal shift dresses in fish-scale effect.
While some of the details might seem outlandish, the collection was mostly very wearable – a much needed improvement after Spring 2011’s stiff gorilla-shoulder silhouettes and monkey prints.
