Crystal Renn Makes Her Vogue Debut On Vogue Mexico April 2011 Cover

Crystal Renn On Vogue Mexico April 2011 CoverCrystal Renn was photographed by David Roemer for Vogue Mexico April 2011 cover and the accompanying editorial, making it Renn’s Vogue cover debut.

The editorial showcases a hot trend this summer – neons. Although Vogue Mexico took it more into the Eighties realm and the styling of the close-ups looks rather tacky, Renn herself looks gorgeous.

Next year in Vogue US?

Ann Ward Wears Pinko By Mark Fast For Vogue Italia March 2011 Prize Editorial

Ann Ward In Vogue Italia March 2011 Editorial Wearing Lavender Mark Fast Dress

Ann Ward won America’s Next Top Model season 15 which Tyra Banks dubbed as the high-fashion season. Endorsed by Vogue Italia, as part of her prize Ward was also to get a Vogue Italia editorial and a cover of Beauty In Vogue supplement (coming in May).

Well, the editorial is finally here, appearing on the pages of Vogue Italia March 2011 issue, but is it really the break any model would die to get? Photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth, the editorial feels like an extension of an ANTM photoshoot – bad over-the-top wigs, too much makeup and complete disconnect from current fashion reality. Playing into the disco theme, Ward wears Pinko By Mark Fast Spring 2011 collection which was inspired by Studio 54. At least the season is right.

The accompanying article, however sympathetic to Ward, makes it’s very clear that she is gracing these precious Vogue Italia pages because she won a competition, not because she is an actual model, doing a real fashion editorial. It’s doubtful, however, Vogue Italia could have done anything different. Despite winning the season, Ward is not even remotely ready for the real modeling world, proving once again ANTM’s extreme disconnect from reality.

Abbey Lee Kershaw Photographed By Hedi Slimane For Vogue Russia April 2011 Cover

Abbey Lee Kershaw By Hedi Slimane For Vogue Russia April 2011 Cover

Hedi Slimane photographed the lovely Abbey Lee Kershaw for next month’s Vogue Russia April 2011 issue cover and editorial. While most magazines has gone soft with their Spring 2011 covers, choosing to use Dolce & Gabbana’s white Broderie Anglaise dresses over and over, Vogue Russia are doing something different.

Kershaw is wearing a combination of black leather and sheer fabric topped with metal spike collar. While definitely original and edgy, I’m not even sure it’s on trend. But I’m not complaining – I’ll take metal spike collar over white lace every time.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 Collection Already Appeared On 17 Magazine Covers

We are only 21 days into the Spring/Summer 2011 season, but magazine editors don’t waist any time when it comes to putting Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 collection on the cover. While Gucci’s color-blocking and Prada’s baroque monkeys may provide that ever elusive show-stopping cover, the vote is in – natural, white and clean is king for spring.

Clearly a favorite, the same version of a white Broderie Anglaise dress keeps appearing on the covers. In fact, Gisele Bundchen is wearing one on Emmanuelle Alt’s first Vogue Paris cover for April 2011 issue. That same dress is also worn by Britt Maren on Germany’s Vogue cover for the same month. It is that exact dress that already appeared on Elle Russia and Vogue Spain March 2011 covers.

Lest be forgotten, Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 collection included styles other than the virginal white dresses. Black lingerie inspired dresses, leopard mixed with lace or crystal embellished, they all make appearances on various fashion magazine covers beginning February.

Bar Refaeli In Allure April 2011 Editorial “Over Easy”

Bar Refaeli In Allure April 2011 Editorial - Silk Shirtdress

Bar Refaeli, Sports Illustrated model and Leonardo DiCaprio’s longtime girlfriend, appears in next month’s issue of Allure magazine. Refaeli was photographed by Carter Smith with FrankReps’ Yumi on makeup for the Allure April 2011 editorial.

The editorial, “Over Easy”, showcases ways to do the shirtdress look with a Spring season ease. Personally, I’m more excited about the leopard Giambattista Valli sandals (final image) and Refaeli’s effortless sultriness, than an overdone casual shirtdress look.
