She’s an activist who fights to protect children in Africa, she’s also a feminist who runs a super-cool website called GURLS TALK and in general, she’s beautiful inside and out. Adwoa Aboah (25) has truly earned the title model, and now she’s starting to collect.
Where do I even begin. Speechless, overwhelmed and grateful. Never in a million years did I think that one day I’d be on the cover of @britishvogue even more so one that marks such a monumental change and a new beginning. Thank you @edward_enninful I’m so very proud of you, you deserve this. Thank you for choosing me to be you’re first cover girl. Thank you to #stevenmiesel for the most magical shoot I’ve ever been on. Mother @patmcgrathreal and @guidopalau for the constant support over the two day shoot and for making me feel like one in a million. To everyone who made this possible, thank you. #newvogue
She was recently announced as the new face of Marc Jacobs and nominated for UK fashion award for being the model of the year alongside Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. Now she’s also covering Vogue UK’s last issue for 2017 and the first one for new editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. Besides that, she owns a unique yet effortless style as it featured in her private Instagram account, although she doesn’t use it only as an objective to gain likes and compliments. The freckled model doesn’t feel shame nor being afraid to reveal personal issues on varied topics if she believes it could help and inspire others. So, we root for you GURL.
I am so grateful to be nominated for the British Fashion Council’s Model Of The Year. It is an absolute honour to be alongside inspiring and admirable women. Thank you to @britishfashioncouncil for recognising the accomplishments myself and @BellaHadid @Gigihadid @KaiaGerber @WinnieHarlow have achieved and the hard work we have put into this year!
Happy World Mental Health Day. On the 3rd of October 2014 I thought life was not worth living for, 3 years on and my life couldn’t be more different….Suffering in silence only made my secret stronger. But by opening my mouth, sharing and asking for help did I finally start to realise that I wasn’t alone. I didn’t need to feel ashamed and this was something I wasn’t going to have to go through by myself. Today, tomorrow and always I will strive to break the stigma surrounding mental health, I help make it part of the everyday conversation and advocate for it to be educated in schools and workplaces. #wmhd2017

“I’ve found my tribe. When I’m around those women, so much of the burden I carry, the depression and the bipolar, the fear of ever going back into that dark hole, is completely taken away. When we’re all taking part, I don’t have to be ashamed about it or explain myself, they all understand. So Gurls Talk is as much for my benefit as anyone else’s.” So proud to be on the #bof500 September 2017 cover Massive thanks to @bof @imranamed @laurajanecoulson @zoetaylormakeup and @nikhilmansata
