During New York Fashion Week for Spring 2019, Marc Jacobs had a memorable runway show. We could talk about all the drama surrounding the late start, but we’re not going to do that. Instead, we’re going to talk about the ~TrEnDz~ from his beautiful show that we are *still* utterly obsessed with (and think you should be too). So here are fashion trends according to Marc Jacobs’s runway!

The show started off with slips and sparkles (which are two of our favorite things). If Mr. Jacobs is a fan of the combo, then who are we to question it? It is fashion, after all.

Then we got *the* yellow raincoat. We could not possibly be more on-board for this color or this silhouette. (Also, the glitter tights? YES PLZ).

Marc served us a classic trench coat, which gave us hella film noir-y vibes and made us want to stand under a lamppost at midnight playing spy. It also made us want to start wearing chic trench coats again, because apparently they are BACK!

Then the show took a turn and we were given more ruffles than a bag of chips. Nearly half the pieces in the show sported spurts of ruffles. There was heavy ruffle action at the necklines of most outfits, and we loved the editorial clown vibes. If Marc is here for ruffles, then SO. ARE. WE.

Amidst the barrage of rufflage, we received this gift from Marc’s fashion genius in the form of a crop top ‘n culottes. We’re kind of all over this look (and not just because of the alliteration). The sweater also doesn’t hurt, and neither do the sparkly tights, which we fully intend to invest in. (Note to self: buy stocks in sparkly tights).

And now we get to ~the~ dresses. These beautiful explosions of fuschia and orange literally make us emotional. They’re the perfect blend of whimsy and fun and they just look like you could wear them and twirl or shake the night away. Fuschia and orange are the color combo we didn’t know we needed, and we are LIVING FOR IT.

To close the show, Marc showed us some millennial pink (ya know, just enough to satisfy our cravings), MORE ruffles, and this silky look that is WERKING for us. It was a perfect end to a near perfect show.

Our main takeaways from Marc’s Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection:

1) Marc Jacobs is a master at playing with shapes

2) The more ruffles the better

3) Fuschia and orange are a yes

4) Sparkly tights are the best investments we can make in our future

All in all, bravo, Mr. Jacobs, bravo!
