Kate Moss for Topshop

On Oct. 25 the last full Kate Moss for Topshop collection will hit Topshop’s retail and online stores. After three years of a highly successful partnership, Sir Philip Green and Kate Moss are parting ways.

At it’s peak, Topshop was producing 6 Kate Moss collections a year, which were scaled down to only two earlier this year. Industry insiders put it simply as the contract having “reached its natural conclusion.”

Does this mean you won’t be able to shop Kate Moss for Topshop any more? Not so. Topshop still plans to produce special capsule Kate Moss collections 2-3 times a year. Those will include pieces from Moss’ very first collection and other special limited edition pieces.

“We’ve honed it down to a smaller base,” Green tells WWD. “She’s done brilliantly well, but to produce these collections takes time, real time. We thought it would be better to go forward with something smaller. That’s a better way forward.”

Don’t shed a tear for Kate Moss, because she still has her, what looks as successful, handbag collections for Longchamp and a fragrance line with Coty Inc.
