Fashion Lover’s Emmy Awards 2010 Best dress list
Last night we’ve seen a lot of the good, the bad and the ugly. To make sense of it all, I’ve compiled two lists – Best dressed and Worst dressed. The ugly know who they are.
My criteria is very simple, I don’t care who the actress is or how good the designer she’s wearing is. The dress has to fit her well, suit her and be, simply put, stunning. That’s why for example, as much as I love Alexander McQueen, Anna Paquin did not make the list – the bottom of that dress didn’t do Paquin’s legs or height any justice.
You can also check out our worst dressed list here.
Lets begin, shall we.
Claire Danes wore this beautiful sequined golden creme strapless gown by Armani Privé which I bet she set her eyes on while sitting front row at the Fall Armani Privé 2010 Haute Couture runway show.
January Jones took a chance and won with a royal blue Atelier Versace Spring 2010 strapless ballgown. The ballgown is entirely embroidered with fabric to create the feather motif, and that is what makes this dress stand out. A+!
Rose Byrne looks like a futuristic Grecian goddess in a one-of-a-kind cut-out white gown designed by Gucci‘s Frida Giannini.
If Byrne looked like a futuristic Grecian goddess, then Kim Kardashian looks like a classic Grecian goddess in this white Marchesa Resort 2011 gown with an Egyptian neckline.
Kyra Sedgwick wore a burgundy strapless Monique Lhuillier Fall 2010 ballgown. The dress is matched with a perfect lip color.
Padma Lakshmi is stunning not only thanks to this classic strapless navy chiffon gown by Carolina Herrera. What puts Lakshmi in this list is also her perfect styling. She complimented the dress with a pyrite Masai necklace from her own Fall 2010 jewelery collection.
Emily Deschanel looked radiant in a deep purple one-shoulder gown with pleated ruffles from Max Azria Atelier.
True, Heidi Klum wore something strapless and little yet again. Say what you will, but the woman knows her strengths and weaknesses and plays to them well. Last night she wore a black strapless Marchesa Fall 2010 mini dress textured with rosettes and lace and looked damn good doing it.
Jennifer Carpenter wore this gunmetal sequined one-shoulder gown by a mystery designer/brand. What can I say, the dress does a good job hiding Carpenter’s rectangular shape and gives her a very feminine and glamorous look.
Ellie Kemper wore a sand colored fan-pleated tulle gown by Tadashi Shoji from his Fall 2010 runway collection. Nude tulle with touches of black for contrast always does the trick.
