Brian Atwood, Victoria Beckham’s darling pumps designer, just signed a license deal with Jones Apparel Group Inc. The company, who’s portfolio includes brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Robert Rodriguez and Rachel Roy, will essentially manufacture, market and distribute a new Brian Atwood brand – B Brian Atwood. So WWD reports this morning.
Just don’t call it a diffusion line. As Atwood explains, “We don’t ever call it diffusion because it is really a counterpart to the main line. It was something I felt that we needed as part of our brand. We love what we do and if we can give any part of Brian Atwood to a larger audience, that is what really excited me.”
While Atwood’s shoes usually go for $525 to $2,900, shoes from the B Brian Atwood collection will retail for $200 to $500. The initial collection hasn’t even been developed yet, as the line isn’t set to launch until next year – Fall 2011. Don’t expect, however, the typical Brian Atwood sky high pumps, since the designer plans a more urban, “East Village” vibe for it; with flats and midheels taking on a more dominant presence.
I’m sure however the new brand wouldn’t want to disappoint us ladies completely and we’ll still get some good old signature Brian Atwood sky high pumps. So stay tuned.
