WWD reports this morning that sources are adamant that Theory’s acquisition of Proenza Schouler is going through this time. The rumor started last spring when Proenza Schouler’s current holder Permira (which owns Valentino) was looking to sell it.

Back in 2007, Valentino Fashion Group bought a 45 percent stake in Proenza Schouler to help develop the brand. But ever since Matteo Marzotto, the former Valentino chairman who originated this deal, left Valentino in 2008, the Proenza Schouler brand hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves.

Should the deal go through we might see some great developments in the Proenza Schouler brand.
