Back in January, Christie’s and Gucci started the Gucci Collector project. The auction house invited people around the world to get their vintage Gucci handbag gems appraised for free. Out of over 600 bags most precious 30 were chosen.
This 30-piece vintage Gucci handbags collection will go on sale as part of Christie’s annual Fashion Through The Ages sale on December 2. The handbags date as far back as far as late fifties and the starting bids will range from $975 to $4,870.
This is not the last we’ll be seeing these rare vintage Gucci bags. As part of the Gucci Collector project Gucci bought back some of those pieces and will be displaying them in the Gucci museum opening in Florence next year.
