Diana Strele is a Dutch accessories designer for Pieces and lets just say that her day job is a tad more conventional than her first Diana Strele Jewelry collection. Granted, the jewelry is not for sale and only showcased in a digital lookbook, photographed by Åsmund Sollihøgda, available to download at her website.
Strele’s first signature signature jewelry is a prime example of over-conceptualized design. The collection, Diana Strele tells Vogue.it, is meant to evoke thought of Nordic mythology, warriors and body armor. Instead, all I can think of is a scary voice telling me to put the lotion in the basket. Still, the craftsmanship is superb and the talent is definitely there. Perhaps when creating her next jewelry collection, targeted at retailing, there will be more style, less gimmick.
