The Row Pre-Fall 2011 collection is a clear proof of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s progress as designers. In the short time The Row exists, the aesthetic has progressed from rather deconstructed silhouettes and simple draped maxi dresses to a coherent blend of chic and sophisticated, perfectly tailored, office wear.
Still in muted color palette of dark neutrals and the occasional pop of camel or white, The Row Pre-Fall 2011 gives us a lot of pants. Straight-leg, wide-leg, skinny or short. In leather or wool. With simple tops or smart jackets. Plunging V-necklines are balanced out with long bottoms and the naive Peter Pan collars with the more aggressive leather shorts or skirt. And the maxis.
