The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were rather low-key red-carpet-looks wise. I suppose with the Oscars coming up you do have to keep your best looks for last. Still, some managed to shine. When you’ve got the confidence and the perfectly fitting, flattering dress – it doesn’t matter that it’s not the most recent Haute Couture.
I don’t think January Jones will ever end up in a worst dressed list. Jones looked stunning in a contrasting lace Carolina Herrera gown.
Menswear on the red-carpet will always get a best dressed nod from me. Julie Bowen rocked a tailored black jumpsuit by Catherine Malandrino.
With a matching smokey eye makeup, Julia Stiles looked smoldering in a strapless navy degradé Monique Lhuillier gown.
Mila Kunis wore a variation on Michelle Obama’s China State Dinner red Alexander McQueen gown and as usual looked effortless doing it.
A far as I’m concerned Kyra Sedgwick won the 2011 SAG Awards by wearing this vintage black velvet Thierry Mugler gown.
Tina Fey shows how you rock a red dress on the red carpet by wearing a strapless textured Oscar de la Renta gown.
Helena Bonham Carter made such an improvement from her 2011 Golden Globes fiasco that she had to get the best dressed list when she wore this monochrome lace Marc Jacobs dress and a pair of matching (!) black pumps.
Hailee Steinfeld was youthful and modern in a Prada dress from the much talked about Spring 2011 collection.
Melissa Leo goes through such wonderful transformation from her scruffy characters to her glowing red-carpet looks that I simply have to include her in the best dressed list every time. This time Leo stunned in a body-con Randi Rahm gown.
I don’t even know who Paz de la Huerta wore last night. Some shimmering copper number. Let’s face it, she’s kind of a hot mess, but I absolutely love her and her punk I’m-going-to-puke-on-the-red-carpet persona.
