It is no coincidence that the Naeem Khan Fall 2011 collection, coming just before the Oscars, is filled with breath taking red carpet looks. Steering clear of stiff and over-the-top silhouettes, Khan’s point of view is simple, chic and powerful.

Flowing gowns made of light-as-air fabric, embroidered with an easy hand will surely make any woman feel confident and glamorous. Ethnic references were light this time; Ikat embroidery here, ethnic ornamentation there. You would think that ostrich feathers looks towards the end of the show would get the crowds going, but what really got the crowd’s standing ovation was the flowing gold embroidered caftan.

Watch the video I shot for a full impression of the collection or skip to the last few minutes for the final walk-through.
